Hi, I'm Andrew, a Northampton-based freelance copywriter here to help you stir imaginations, inspire the curious, and connect with the people you most want to reach.
All through the power of meaningful and memorable words written with a human touch.
I like to specialise. So, ideally, I work with architects and architectural firms, landscape architects and placemakers, urban planning consultants, property developers, LVIA consultants, housebuilders, architectural photographers, and estate agents to name just a few.
I'm not just a copywriter for the UK's AEC sectors, I enjoy writing for all things heritage and the great outdoors, too.
In short, I'm a freelance copywriter who will bring a human voice and a fresh perspective to whatever type of copy or content you're looking for.
That could be...
🔹 Evocative and impactful storytelling for your architectural project descriptions
🔸 Compelling SEO-friendly blog posts
🔹 Informative and entertaining advertising features
🔸 Captivating website pages
🔹 Enticingly written multi-page marketing brochures
🔸 Insightful eBooks...
Or something else entirely.
Sound good? Then let's have a chat.
I can help you with your architectural storytelling (aka project descriptions), brochures, blog posts, web pages and more.
Projects include writing B2B/B2C copy for architectural firms, urban planners, housebuilders, and 3D 'Smart City' digital modelling PropTech. Plus, story-focused property marketing brochures for high-end modern and period design properties. I've also written B2B copy on fire safety products, systems, and services, as well as CCTV and security systems.
"...with such a complex message, clarity was essential. You have succeeded where we had struggled and the brochures and proposal documents you've written are pitched perfectly."
Gordana Mandic, Tyler Mandic Architects, Chelsea, London.
B2B and B2C copy and content writing for all businesses connected with placemaking, the landscape, and gardens.
I've written for garden designers and soft landscapers' as well as for high-end garden retail. Plus editorially about garden design history and tourism for a UK magazine series.
I can also write compelling project descriptions and case studies for landscape architects, and LVIA (landscape and visual impact assessment) consultants.
Along with engaging copy for projects involving garden rooms, garden architecture, products, and accessories.
As a former pro photographer, I'm your natural choice when it comes to writing informative, engaging, and inspiring copy for architectural, placemaker, and commercial photographers.
Copywriting that captures the essence of your photography.
As well as writing copy for professional photographers, I've also written about photography-focused holidays, tours, and workshops. Plus, photographic studios and services. I'm also ideally placed to write about camera gear and accessories.
"...Andrew, your work has been invaluable to us."
Paola Bergamaschi, Studio Manager/PA to Christian Tagliavini, award-winning fine-art portraiture photographer, Switzerland.
Crafting inspiring words for inspiring places is something I love doing. In particular, I have experience in writing evocative copy for heritage tourism, photographic holidays and workshops, and country-house gardens with a tale to tell.
From informative and entertaining advertorials to SEO-friendly articles. Glossy guidebooks and brochures to whole websites. Whatever your story. Whatever your aim, I'll find the essential words you need.
"...forty years of life and work summed up in one thousand words. That's quite an achievement, Andrew, and it reads beautifully, too."
Frank Lawley, Herterton House Gardens, Northumberland.
As a copywriter for the great outdoors, I've written evocative copy for luxury outdoor clothing brands. And some equally evocative taglines for a promotional video. Plus copy for places to visit, outdoor leisure, and wellbeing in nature.
I can also bring your great outdoor experiences to life with copy that entices, inspires, and excites new paying visitors.
"Thank you so much, Andrew - this is great! You’ve really nailed the evocative copy we're after. And with so many options for taglines, we definitely have that part covered too!"
Emma Mathias, Bradshaw Taylor - the home of luxury outdoor clothing and country lifestyle brands.
Well, it's not quite the random choice you might think it is. Instead, it's all down to photography. Before becoming a copywriter in early 2018, I was a professional landscape and location photographer. Alongside this, I also wrote and illustrated articles for a number of UK magazines.
Shooting stock and undertaking commissions, I supplied numerous editorial and commercial markets. The National Trust was one prestigious client. From the very start, I specialised in photographing Britain's varied architecture, landscapes, gardens, and heritage locations.
All subjects that genuinely interested me. And still do. So, it made perfect sense to now write for clients operating in these same fields, albeit with a slightly broader remit.
In a way, I'm still creating pictures - only now it's using words rather than a camera. With just the right words, I paint persuasive pictures to bring places, spaces, products, and services to life.
Peter Tyler, Tyler Mandic Architects, Chelsea, London.
